Our Zinfandel from Mounts’ La Loma block was picked on September 7th while the Teldeschi Zinfandel and Mounts Petite Sirah components were picked just two days later on September 9th.  All lots were cold soaked for five days and pressed to all French oak after 16 days on the skins.  Once malolactic fermentation finished the following spring, we assembled the final blend of 86% Zinfandel and 14% Petite Sirah.  Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel

Tasting Note:

Bright, medium-dark ruby-red.  A very perfumed and precise nose of red berry fruit, iron, and tobacco.  On the palate, cool red cherry and raspberry fruit mingle with notes of bramble and anise.  Perfectly balanced with suave tannins in the long, long finish.  Less dark and powerful than the 2016 but no less striking, displaying incredible grace, harmony, and purity.  I could drink this all day.  Enjoy 2019 through 2027.
