Papa's Block

Russian River Valley

Named after the owner's father, known as Papa to his grandchildren, this is a special 2-acre block planted to our specifications within the larger Atoosa's Vineyard.  All ENTAV clone 470 (one of my favorite Syrah clones of all time), this is one of those serendipitous cases in which site, variety, and rootstock all perfectly align to create a wine of extraordinary complexity and character.  Like most vineyards in this neighborhood, soil is Huichica Loam.  Picking is generally late September to early October.
