Like last year’s wine, our Sonoma County Zinfandel represents absolutely crazy QPR and drinks well above its price point. While primarily composed of two Alexander Valley vineyards, both planted in the 1890s, it also contains 6% Pagani Ranch Alicante Bouschet (planted 1920) and 6% Rossi Ranch Petite Sirah for color, structure, and complexity. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Sonoma County Zinfandel

Tasting Note:

Medium-dark to dark ruby-purple. Aromas of Satsuma plums, black cherry, and a delightful faint whiff of clove and earth. A glycerin-like entry leads to flavors similar to the aromas - plums, cherries, and freshly tilled earth. Youthful tannins appear in the long finish but in no way detract. They just make you want to take another sip! Like the 2013, tremendous balance. Hard to find a better Zin at this price point. Enjoy from release through 2022. (MRO – 01/19/16)
