Another exciting new vineyard designate! Many of you seeking out the latest and greatest have already discovered the wines of Morgan Twain-Peterson and Bedrock Wine Company. We feel incredibly fortunate and honored that Morgan has decided to share a bit of his prized old-vine fruit (planted 1888!) with us. Picked September 12th, the must was cold soaked for five days prior to being inoculated with a locally derived yeast. Five percent young vine Alicante Bouschet from an adjacent block was included for color and structure. Aged in once and twice-used French oak barrels and bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Tasting Note:

Medium-dark ruby-purple. Hi-toned aromas of black raspberry, orange peel, rose petal, candied violet, and spice cake. A fabulous sniff! Sweet (from glycerin, not sugar) and concentrated on the palate with flavors of plum, blackcurrant, and licorice. Really coats the palate through the long fruit-filled finish. Enjoy from release through 2015. (MRO – 3/15/11)
