11% Sonoma Valley Zinfandel, Monte Rosso Vineyard
14% Dry Creek Valley Petite Sirah, Teldeschi Ranch
Quite simply, this wine rocks! And for the money? Back the truck up! Our goal has always been to produce a Sonoma County that can compete with our vineyard designates but this wine succeeds at a whole new level. No wonder, given that it’s composed of Zinfandel from Rossi Ranch, Monte Rosso Vineyard, and Lingenfelder Vineyard. Fourteen percent Petite Sirah from Teldeschi Ranch was included for structure and complexity. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Note:
Medium to medium-dark ruby-garnet. A compelling bouquet of cherries, red currants, lilac, and underbrush greets the nose. Succulent and supple on entry, flavors of raspberries and cherry coat the palate, persisting through the spice-laden finish. Some of our Sonoma County Zinfandels have required time in bottle to be at their best. This rendition will be ready on release. Enjoy 2011 through 2015. (MRO – 3/15/11)
