With its sweeping views of Mount St. Helena, Pelkan Ranch is certainly one of the most beautiful vineyards from which we source fruit.  But the beauty here is more than just the views.  Year after year this ranch produces outstanding, high-quality Syrah from its shale-laden, ridge top soils.  Picked September 16th, the must was cold soaked for five days prior to being inoculated with a strain of yeast known for producing a lush mouth-feel.  Aged in French oak, 50% new, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
