Beep, beep, beep...  That’s the sound of the truck backing up for this wine!  In this vintage, we used two components for the base, part of our Rossi Ranch Zinfandel and some Zin from a wonderful old-vine Russian River Valley vineyard planted in 1915.  To that, we blended in some of our Mounts Ranch Zin, Teldeschi Ranch Zin, Carlisle Vineyard Zin, and about two percent each of Rossi Ranch Petite Sirah and Pagani Ranch Alicante Bouschet.  All old-vine material.  Bottled unfined and unfiltered

Sonoma County Zinfandel

Tasting Note:

Bright, medium-dark ruby-garnet.  Wonderfully expressive aromas of black cherries, damson plums, and baking spice delight the nose.  On the palate, medium to medium-full bodied with a cornucopia of red berry flavors.  Gentle tannins build in the clean, refreshing finish.  Compared to the 2017, much more fruit-driven and concentrated without the earth and soil-driven notes.  While very enjoyable now, optimum drinking for this QPR winner should be between 2021 and 2027.
