We were fortunate in this bountiful vintage to receive a bit more Mounts Petite Sirah than usual.  After using what we needed for our Dry Creek Zin, we found blending the rest with our Rossi Ranch Petite Sirah created an absolutely delicious, well-balanced wine that showcases the intense blue and black fruit of this variety.  Twenty-nine percent new French oak.  Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Sonoma County Petite Sirah

Tasting Note:

Very dark ruby-purple. Blackberries galore and a hint of loamy earth lead the charge in the nose.  A great sniff!  Medium-full bodied with flavors of blackberry, allsorts, and bittersweet chocolate.  Compared to our Alicante Bouschet, more overtly fruity and more reliant upon tannin for structure as opposed to acidity.  Nevertheless, a Pet of surprising approachability.  Enjoy now with a good decant or give it some more time and enjoy 2026 through 2040.
