The Mounts Zinfandel component was picked September 17th at 25.2 Brix while the Teldeschi Zinfandel component and Mounts Petite Sirah were picked on September 21st.  Rather than cofermenting all the Petite Sirah with the Teldeschi Zinfandel, we opted to coferment only about half, fermenting the remainder of the Petite Sirah by itself.  The following spring, we did blending trials and decided to include an additional bit of Petite Sirah for a total of 8% in the final wine.   All French oak, 25% new, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel

Tasting Note:

Medium-dark ruby-red.  Expressive aromas of black cherry, loamy earth, rusty iron.  Medium-full to full bodied, flavors of cherry and savory herbs build through the mineral-laden finish.  Positively delicious, speaking clearly of its Dry Creek Valley origins.  This is quite enjoyable now but will continue to improve with time in bottle.  Drink from 2021 through 2028.
