2017 Sonoma County Petite Sirah

100% Petite Sirah

pH: 3.82
T.A.: 6.2 g/L
Alcohol: 14.9%
Cases Produced: 151

Similar to the 2016, this vintage is predominantly composed of Petite Sirah from the illustrious Rossi Ranch, organically farmed by vine-guru extraordinaire Phil Coturri.  Fifteen percent Petite Sirah from Mounts Ranch in Dry Creek Valley was included to add fruit, additional complexity, and mouth-feel.  Given the wine’s concentration and structure, it was aged in slightly more new oak than usual, 28% to be exact.  Unfined and unfiltered.

Sonoma County Petite Sirah

Tasting Note:

Very dark ruby-purple. Opaque. Blackberry and mulberry fruit are accented by notes of dark loamy earth, plum sauce, and Asian 5-spice. On the palate, medium to medium-full bodied with flavors of black and blue fruits. Tannins build in the long, juicy finish. This will age well. Stash it away in your cellar for five or six years and then enjoy all the way through 2040. (MRO - 11/01/19)
