A fantastic blend of Petite Sirah from two historic vineyards! Fruit from Bedrock Vineyard and Rossi Ranch were carefully blended to create this inky, age worthy wine. Picked between September 26th and October 6th, we used two different strains of yeast, one isolated in the Rhône, the other in the Languedoc, each known for contributing to mouth-feel and pliancy. Aged in all French oak, 28% new, and gently fined but bottled unfiltered.

Sonoma Valley Petite Sirah

Tasting Note:

Black-purple with a magenta rim. Intense, high-toned aromas of blackberry, crushed rock, and anise. Medium-full to full bodied with flavors of blackberry, black olive, spice, and violets. Mmmmm… So good! At present, more tightly coiled than our Dry Creek Valley Petite Sirah but a wine that will reward greatly with patience. If you do decide to open one early, decant and/or pour through a Vinturi wine aerator and enjoy with a nice piece of grilled meat or some aged cheddar (I recommend Lincolnshire Poacher from Neal’s Yard). Otherwise, drink any time from 2016 through 2035. (MRO – 09/25/11)
