In
previous vintages, weve always preferred our Dry Creek
zinfandel with a healthy dose of petite sirah, anything from
18 to 25 percent. However, in 2003,
Ray Teldeschis 118
year-old vines produced such incredible zinfandel that when
in came time to doing blending trials, we found we preferred
just a splash of petite, 5% to be exact. Aged in all French
oak, 30% new, for 16 months.
Tasting Note: Medium-dark ruby.
Fragrant aromas of red cherries, rhubarb, iron, vanilla, and
freshly tilled, loamy earth. Reflects the Dry Creek terroir
perfectly. On the palate, rich, full-bodied, with flavors echoing
the aromas on the finish. Enjoy this lusty wine from late 2005
through 2008. (MRO - 3/3/05)
