2016 Vintage

Nearly a repeat of 2015, budbreak was again very early leading to a start date for harvest only 4 days after the record early start of 2015. But weather cooled significantly in late August and early September allowing the fruit to hang without gaining much additional sugar. The result was some of the best fruit we've ever seen. Very little to no Botrytis. Great color. Perfect juice chemistries. Wines in general are much darker in profile than 2015 with impeccable balance. They should drink well young and drink well old.
